Concord , NH– An Arizona man led police on an eight-town chase just after midnight before being subdued in Canterbury.
According to a New Hampshire State Police press release, Trooper Andy Macaione tried to stop Jeremy Pelletier, 27, of Superior, Arizona, on Route 3 in Belmont for speeding.
Pelletier drove off, turning onto side roads in Tilton and Sanbornton. The chase returned to Route 3 in Tilton, where police allege Pelletier "struck at least two parked cars, a building, a statue and . . . Macaione's cruiser" before fleeing into Franklin.
The chase then headed south on Route 3A, onto a side road leading to Salisbury, to Route 127, then to Route 4 through Boscawen into Concord. Police say Pelletier at this point was driving on a flat tire.
The pursuit, which now involved other police units, crossed Interstate 93, where Pelletier allegedly slowed abruptly and collided with Macaione again, forcing both cars off the road. The suspect drove back onto the highway, hitting a Franklin cruiser head-on and damaging it extensively.
Pelletier fled again via Boyce Road into Canterbury, where he lost control, went off the road and was taken into custody by Macaione and another state police officer.
Pelletier, who suffered minor injuries, is being held at the Merrimack County House of Correction on $50,000 bail. On Monday, he will be arraigned in Concord District Court on charges of felony reckless conduct, conduct after an accident, aggravated driving while intoxicated, disobeying a police officer and resisting arrest.
