BELLEVUE, Wash. --
A crane operator on a Bellevue construction site helped police catch a fugitive who was running from police Monday, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.
Police said the 35-year-old Bellevue man wanted for violating probation jumped out of a window of his second-story apartment to flee from police and corrections officers who were at his door.
With police in pursuit, he ran across a construction site at the corner of 112th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Fourth Street.
Construction workers pointed out where the man had run, and police asked construction workers at ground level to radio the crane operator who was 200 feet above the project.
The crane operator tracked the fugitive, relayed messages via radio to police, and police caught the man four blocks away.
