So because all of the universities are all closed for the pandemic, have calls for service exclusively been for towns/cities so far? I know it sounds like a stupid question but im just curious thats all
We’ve still had a few calls, mostly alarms (fire and burglar) a couple crashes on roads passing through campus, and quite few calls to assist the town with domestics and the like. Everyone’s call volume is way down though.
Down here we've been using skeleton staffing, giving as many officers as much time off as we can to limit any potential spread. There's only few hundred students staying, mostly internationals. The only other activities are maintenance, research experiments that can't be stopped (like feeding lab animals), COVID research and testing labs. So on the whole it's quieter than I've ever seen it. We've been doing lots of building checks, as well as sweeping the homeless away. So far two burglaries, several bike thefts and lots of FCR's. Also a few kids smoking weed in the parking garage, but that seems to never stop....
