Court Security

After reading about the incident in Georgia it got me thinking. Court security in Massachusetts is a joke. The only armed people in the building are the police officers who are their with cases. I even know a few officers that don't carry when they have court. I think it is time to have armed personnel assigned to the court houses. I think this would be a sensible duty for the Sheriffs. This is not meant as a joke so lets not turn this into a shit storm that gets the topic locked.

5'2" female Deputy Sheriff VS. 6'1" 210 lb. ex-football player = Trouble

Let's face it people. I am not a betting man here but odds were in this guys favor. Guy has 2 shanks taken away from him last week and is on trial for rape (again) with a long history of violence & only 1 lone deputy escorting him into the courtroom changing area spells trouble. Even if it wasn't a female D/S there would be recriminations enough to go around.

4 people are dead because of an inept system in Gwinnett County GA. If anybody should hang, it's the boob that assigned her and her alone to do the escort. WTF was that guy thinking??

I am not s#itting on women in the LE profession but if i am ever in a jam, I know of some cops (men included) who I wouldn''t want at the scene since they are more trouble than help. I do want the biggest, meanest, SOB we have to get there to help take my a$$ out of the jam. Not some sickly 130 pound wimp who is afraid of their own shadow. Just gives the bad guy an extra gun within their grasp from which to grab & shoot myself and others.

Scenario #1 - Big fire at a 4th floor walk up in the bricks and you are trapped and about to lose consciousness from smoke inhalation. Who do you want to save you? A brawny & strapping 6 foot FF or cop who can lift you over his shoulder & carry you to safety with ease or a 5'6" "quota" who can't even get out of their own way but were hired to make the FD or PD look politically correct? I know who I want. HC
