Just got word today of some Court closings due by the end of next fiscal year (July 2011).

    Westborough District Court

    Framingham Juvenile Court

    Wareham District Court

    Leominster District Court

And one more I can't think of off the top of my head. These closings are not a rumor, and are scheduled for the end of the fiscal year. The Trial Court has compiled a list of approximately 25 courts to close, with a goal of closing and relocating 5 Courts per year.

Dropping off prisoners and paper work just became a little more difficult. Not to mention John Q. Public will have to travel further to utilize the justice system.

Just an FYI I thought I would throw out there.

DOC looking better and better.

The state probably figures that the poor victims of society do not need to go to court. They just need counseling. Now that I think of it that must be why they refer to lawyers a counselor. I cant think of this any longer I am just going to get pissed off. :stomp:

Framingham Juvenile was a bowling alley before and the radio station next to it at one time played real music not liberal or spanish business crap.

Horrible. I am glad Uxbridge isn't on that list. Little known fact when the county owned court houses Uxbridge District Court was almost foreclosed on in the early 90s.

Great, What are these idiots thinking? I believe that next to Worcester, Westborough is the busiest court in the area. So that makes sense.

I wish we could close the Court of Public Opinion in this State instead.

I blame the news media for most of it.

Why they are not held more accountable when they allow a defendant or their attorney to make unsupported allegations against us, individually or collectively as a headline in the paper and on the nightly news, is beyond my comprehension.

Just to touch on this. Dudley District Court is actually second busiest to Worcester in County. They've got Dudley, Webster, Southbridge, Charlton, and Sturbridge. Not to mention all of the busts the State Police make off of the small strip of I 84. Makes for quite a busy little court.

Also Uxbridge is always mentioned as being on the chopping block. Has been that way (or so I'm told) almost since the day it opened. The funny thing is (and I thank Judge Losapio again for this) is that plenty of courts out do Uxbridge when it comes to numbers of cases, arrests, small claims etc., yet Uxbridge Court is second to Worcester when it comes to bringing in Court Costs, fines, and probation fees. TO quote again, "Court Fees are the onnly bill you will go to jail for if you don't pay." I thank Judge Losapio for keeping Uxbridge court, a diamond in the rough, open and ready for business. Rumor has it that when Westborough closes, that Grafton P.D. maybe transfered to Uxbridge for their cases.

Police chief: Don't close Westborough court

    Posted 12 hour(s) ago
Closing Westborough District Court to help bridge a $21 million court system budget gap is a bad idea, said Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon.

The Communist Socialist People's Court is in Franklin County. Many a trooper have avoided making cases in that place. But God forbid those arrestees would have to go out to Greenfield to answer for their misdeeds.

You mean, your cases will see a lot more CWOFs, dismissed, null process, etc.

It's actually less than 7 miles of pure bliss. Once they get on the cocaine trail, I mean the turnpike, forget about it...

July 12, 2011 - WESTBOROUGH, Mass. – Although Westborough's jury trials were just moved to Worcester last month to the dismay of local police chiefs, the Trial Court is now recommending they move forward with plans to relocate all court operations from Westborough District Court to Worcester District Court.

Despite local police chiefs' opposition, Westborough District Court set to close

Leominster leases the court house. The lease recently expired so they are going to the chopping block. So Fitchburg, Clinton and Worcester are going to get their cases.
