FRAMINGHAM -
A Framingham cop suffered cuts on his hand and knee, and his uniform was ripped while struggling to arrest a Framingham woman Tuesday night, police said.
Oneila E. Rodriguez, 42, ran from officers when they found out she had a warrant for her arrest, according to Framingham District Court records.
In a report filed in court, Officer John Norton said he was patrolling near Store 24 on Waverley Street when he saw a woman, later identified as Rodriguez, acting suspiciously.
When Norton pulled his cruiser into the store's parking lot, Rodriguez quickly turned and walked away. Norton said he stopped her on Hollis Court and asked her what she was doing.
"She stated that she was looking for 'My drug-dealing boyfriend,' " Norton wrote.
Norton called for backup and then checked to see if police had any warrants for Rodriguez's arrest.
"While checking on (the) warrant status, Rodriguez became agitated, stating, 'Why you bothering me with all these drug dealers around,' and she began to walk away from us towards Hollis Street," Norton wrote.
The dispatcher radioed back to Norton that Rodriguez had a Framingham District Court warrant for trespassing. When Rodriguez heard that, she ran.
Officer Paul Patriarca gave chase, catching Rodriguez on Hollis Street. The pair fell to the ground, and Rodriguez struggled until she was handcuffed.
Patriarca suffered cuts on his left hand and knee during the struggle. His pants and leather shoes were also torn, according to Norton's report.
Rodriguez, of 20 Thurber St., was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
She pleaded not guilty at her Framingham District Court arraignment yesterday and was released without bail. She is due back in court on Nov. 24 for a pretrial conference.
