Police say a Framingham man tipped them off that he may be breaking the law yesterday when he broke out in a run when he saw them.
Felix Ramose, 30, was arrested at 12:51 a.m. after a short foot chase as he tried to dump two baggies of marijuana on the ground, said police spokesman Lt. Paul Shastany.
Sgt. Scott Brown and detectives Leonard Pini and Matt Gutwill were in plain clothes walking on Beaver Park Road when they saw a group of men standing outside of 73 Beaver Park Road drinking beer.
The three officers approached and showed the men their badges, Shastany said. When Felix Ramose saw the badges, he ran away, putting his right hand into his pocket as he ran, the lieutenant said.
The officers saw Ramose pull out a small plastic bag and cash, and it appeared he was trying to empty the bag, Shastany said. Pini caught up with Ramose, grabbed his hand and knocked him to the ground.
After Ramose was handcuffed, the detectives found a small bag of marijuana next to him, as well as $85, the lieutenant said.
Ramose, of 79 Beaver Park Road, was charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.
A man who was drinking with Ramose was also arrested. Henry Rodriguez, 27, with a last known address of 7 Saint Lo Road, Framingham, was charged with trespassing because he had been issued a no-trespass order for the Pelham Apartments, Shastany said.
Ramose pleaded not guilty at his Framingham District Court arraignment and was released without bail. He is due back in court Nov. 12 for a pretrial conference.
Rodriguez pleaded guilty to trespassing and was fined $50.
