A 24-year-old Marlborough man was arrested early yesterday after allegedly breaking into a home, injuring a resident and damaging property, police said.
Jonathan Michael Gonzalez, of 122 South St., was arrested about 12:30 a.m. after a report of a disturbance, police said.
At Gonzalez' arraignment in Marlborough District Court yesterday, Judge Jonathan Brant set bail at $1,000 cash, $10,000 surety, according to court documents. Reasons for the bail include a history of domestic violence, several defaults and a long criminal record, Brant wrote in court documents.
Gonzalez wanted to enter a South Street home but a woman there told him he could not come in, said Det. Martha Shea. Gonzalez kicked the door in, breaking the lock and the frame, Shea said. Gonzalez and the woman know each other, according to court documents.
Gonzalez grabbed the woman and threw her into the wall, Shea said.
"She had bruises from the incident," Shea said. It was unclear whether the woman was taken to the hospital.
Gonzalez also ripped curtains and threw furniture, Shea said.
As Gonzalez tried to pull away in his car, police stopped him and arrested him, Shea said.
Gonzalez was charged with assault and battery, breaking and entering a building at night to commit a felony, and vandalizing property, police said.
Gonzalez was also charged on a warrant out of Marlborough District Court for intimidating a witness, two counts of assault and battery, defacing property, and assault with a dangerous weapon, according to court documents.
Gonzalez is scheduled to be in court on Oct. 17 for a pretrial hearing.
