Police have busted what they say was a Florida-to-Braintree drug operation being run out of a local hotel room.
Kristian T. Fadrigalan, 23, of Braintree, and Edward L. Coutant, 41, and Nathaniel Young, 22, both of Bradenton, Fla., were arrested early this morning as detectives capped a month-long investigation into the sale of OxyContin and Percocet.
According to police, the two Florida men flew the drugs up to Braintree where Fadrigalan sold it.
At about midnight Tuesday, police and members of a regional SWAT team moved in on a room at the Sheraton Hotel on Forbes Road. When Fadrigalan left the hotel and drove a rental car to his home in Braintree, police stopped him and found one 80 mg OxyContin pill.
Shortly after 1 a.m. today, the SWAT team stormed into the hotel room and arrested the two Florida men. They found 432 OxyContin pills, 33 Percocet pills, more than $9,000 cash, ammunition and two 9mm handguns.
Coutant said that he was prescribed a large amount of drugs in Florida and sold them to Fadrigalan in Braintree for $40 a pill, police said.
All three men were charged with trafficking in OxyContin and conspiracy. Coutant and Young were also charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Fadrigalan was also charged with possession of OxyContin.
