Duties:
Transmits messages from a communication base station. Operates a lexar 2000 switchboard to relay incoming and outgoing telephone calls. Receives, transfers, screens and logs messages and maintains records. Uses and coordinates the people-finder paging system. Contacts and provides follow-up for all emergencies including but not limited to medical, fire, campus safety, weather and maintenance. All communications are in accordance with the rules and regulations of the FCC.

Special Requirements: After appointment, appointees must obtain a valid Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's permit issued by the Federal Communications Commission.

This is a civil service position. If there is no civil service list for this title, employees appointed must take and pass the next Civil Service examination when administered.
