Has any municiple police department or college police department having trouble with requesting new Ch90 /Mass uniform citations from the registry? I have left messages since Septeber with a new request for citations books but no response. I was wondering if this was being experienced by other department. Thank You in advance!

The boy's at BSC and the Chief could have had them w/ a little help....... :D like that old saying goes, one hand washes the other...
Last I heard was Bridgewater State, Bunker Hill Com College and several other state colleges were in the process of making their own ch90 citations which by statue the registry has to honor!
The RMV are a bunch of idiots. Look at all the revenue they lost from CH90 cites issued by state college. Once the college make their own books and start writing cites, NONE of the money will go to the RMV (such as fees) , all of it will come back to the college and the town will get nothing either. This state of our is so backwards. I thought the reason we have UNIFORM TRAFFIC CITATIONS is to be all UNIFORM. All this happened people because a CLERK MAGISTRATE from BROCKTON DISTRICT COURT did not get a TICKET FIXED that was issued by BRIDGEWATER STATE COLLEGE POLICE. I think the state ethics commission should be involved as soon as possible.
Ch 15A Ss 22 / Ch 73 Ss 18 / Ch 90 does not apply and the college’s are not authorized to issue citations with the exception of “UMASS”. One of the officers in my department has been working on this issue and is trying to have legislation passed. so lets keep our fingers crossed...

This is what the Mass Sheriff's should be doing to clear up their issues with citations.
Leaping lizards Batman! Someone at the RMV decided to read MGL? They now know that citations at state colleges don't fit with the statutes? Now let's see. BSC and others have been writing these citations for how many years? The whole systems is just a mess. Good luck to the chief at BSC. He just might pull off that new legislation, otherwise patrolling a campus without Chap. 90 you're just another turnkey.

What a bunch of ignorant, arm-chair-lawyer, BULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. MGL Chapter 73 "State Colleges and Community Colleges" (NOT UMass!!!!!!)

CHAPTER 73: Section 18 " all fines and penalties recovered for violations of rules and regulations made under authority of this section shall be accounted for by the clerk of the court and forwarded to the trustees of the division of state colleges who shall deposit the same into the scholarship trust fund of such college for scholarship purposes."

CHAPTER 75: Section 32A "all fines and penalties.....shall be accounted for by the clerk of the court and forwarded to the trustees of the university to be deposited into the scolarship trust fund of the university for scholarship purposes."

Sound familiar? It is because UMass System and the other state colleges have mirrored powers/authority to appoint Police Officers and to enforce CMVI.
What the hell is wrong with you people who keep making erroneous and devisive statements interpreting MGL?

O.K. O.k. So the RMV has decided not to issue Uniform Citation books to certain state and maybe all private universities. So what? Who gives a damn? In practice and in accordance with STATUTE (CH 15A: S.22, and CH 73: S.18) the Judicial (District Court) and executive (Registry) components of the state government have and will continue to process our CH. 90 citations. Who cares where they are printed? CH 90C: S.1 is not the trump card. It just needs tweaking to resolve this B.S.

And if it never happens........................The tickets will still be written and just printed/obtained elsewhere. Again, Who needs the RMV to supply your stationary?

Thanks for the response Woody, when I saw that ignorant post my blood pressure went up for three days so i could not respond. On another note, why not get together with all state colleges and make a uniform traffic citation for state colleges and have all of them chip in and pay for the cites. Then all the dough comes back to the school and screw the RMV. How nice!
Thank You!

Isn't it simply AMAZING how the state schools would rather argue and misinterpret MGL to try to differentiate, rather than consolidate?

maybe by the third millenium, and through MCLEA and some legislation, all the people will come together. Imagine someone from Mt. Wachusett CC hand-in-hand with a BSC cop?
John Lennon did!
:D
MPD,

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you my friend. But we ALL know that if someone who sits at the top of the heap says Ch & Sec X, Y, Z don't apply to campus/college PD's-then they dont until that person is replaced by someone else who might reverse that ideal. If Courts and RMV say "No" then someone else needs to change the language so the only answer can be "yes" Its an age old battle Look a the Gay marriage issue.......

PS isn't creating special "Uniform" citation books not issued by the RMV (AKA Government) a Secessionist form of revolt?

You said it Trooper-Man!

As you well know the RMV can tell their clerks in Randolph not to issue ticket books to the "unmentioned ones" in CH90C s.1 But again, who really cares? We and other agencies are still writing "V"s on K & M citations and the District Courts and citation processing center of the RMV take em. Again, why? Because it's the law, not simply a practice.
As far as the Uniform Citations go, We are state agencies and nowhere on those forms does it have a unique "RMV form#". As long as the printing is to the same content and standards, who would even know/care/complain?
Now about this succession thing.............A person who wears a "blue and gray" uniform should be careful about referring to such subjects.
:D

Be safe!
Woody
Not to get off subject, personally I could care less about writing out a ticket, one less headache for me, but I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is any law in Massachusetts that requires a certain amount or any training in order to work road details.exp... Reserve Police Academy. thanks.
