My personal pet peeve is residents with out of state registrations. Before it seemed that you had to observe the vehicle for 30 consecutive days in order to issue a site for an unregistered motor vehicle.
With the following newly enacted laws it seems that the Commonwealth has made this easier to enforce (documented in 90.3 1/2 B)
c 90 § 3
90 312/A - Register MV Improperly to Avoid Taxes/ Premiums c90 § 3 1/2 (c) ( 1) Criminal
90 312/B - Register MV Improperly to Avoid Taxes/ Premiums c90 § 3 1/2 (c) ( 2) $500
So if I read this correctly I no longer have to log a suspect vehicle for 30 consecutive days? I can just ask a few questions of run a Q2 and if the license info states they live in MA and the vehicle is registered to the same in a different state I can issue either civil or criminal?
