Cleveland police said a man was killed when the vehicle he was in burst into flames after a chase and crash.
Lt. Thomas Stacho said that officers were pursuing a vehicle that was taken in a breaking and entering case. The vehicle burst into flames after crashing at East 83rd Street and Euclid Avenue.
Police dragged two people from the vehicle. A 30-year-old man was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later died. The other man went to Huron Hospital. He was reported in critical condition.
Two police officers were treated for injuries suffered while pulling the men from the burning car.
Stacho said a sawed-off shotgun and masks were found in the vehicle.
