As some readers may have noted, I am currently in Mosul, Iraq, due to come home within the next few months. I felt the need to write this, to express my disgust and sadness over the anti-war protest that took place in Cambridge on the Army's birthday.

I guess I have no problem with people expresing their opinion, at least their in a nation that allows it to take place. But to boo and his as the 11 year old, son of a Medal of Honor winner leads the pledge of Alligence? Christ, where's the compassion and respect? I had thought that Cambridge was an island of the intelligencia, that liberals were all about compassion, wrong assertion there!

I applaud my brothers in blue of the Cambridge (and probably SP) police for exercising REMARKABLY RESTRAINT. I would have had a very difficult time with this little exercise.

A final small rave to Ms Vennochi of the Boston Globe; I applaud your son's consideration of the military even though know the kid dosen't have a chance in hell of following through with you as a parent. Remember one thing, he'll be 18 and able to chose with out mommy someday soon!!

You should be disgusted. To protest a war while that’s there right but to boo an 11 year old that’s just bad business. Although I never served, the disrespect that shows I too would have a difficult time with it. And for that ladies son at the globe we should send the recruiters over there on his birthday.

Redpara, thank you for serving. Also there was a great photo of a HUPD cop and a Cambridge Cop carrying one of those shitbags to jail. It was in the other day's Boston Metro. Happy Birthday to my beloved Army.

I was blocking off Ash St for the Auxiliary that day. They were putting on the usual circus rally complete with costumes and annoying chants from what I saw :FM: . TPF also called over the radio about protesters making fun of WW2 vets that were attending. And I haven't had so many people come up to me and ask for directions in my life or complain about what's going on!
