CALIFORNIA, Pa. --

A California Boro police officer was honored for saving a disabled woman from a fire.
Police Officer Rob Dorcon fought back tears as he received a special award and a standing ovation for his bravery at Thursday's Boro meeting.
He saw Linda Davis' home on fire in September and raced inside to get her out.
Davis has multiple sclerosis and is a wheelchair. She could not escape on her own.
"Whenever I got there she told me she couldn't walk, and I said, 'Well, we're getting out there because the fire's right there,'" said Dorcon.
"He was a real hero that night," said Davis. "He kept coming back and checking on me, making sure that I was OK."
The award presentation marked the first time since the fire the two have met.
A toaster caused the fire.
