If only MA would let private campus cops write traffic and pedestrian tickets, I’d take the job and move the 750 miles back just to tear up Comm Ave. I still have nightmares of commuting through there from when I used to work in Boston.

So let me get this straight. They’re gonna pay you better then most municipal police departments and they also want you to do less work for the money. And that’s not ok ?

I'm with EU, I want to get out there and do stuff, I don't want to be bored doing less. Speaking only for myself, that's what I signed up for. It makes the day go by, you might get into something fun, and you might actually make a difference.

Of course times being what they are right now, I get it..............

Great starting pay. The link to the contract goes to the Patrol Officers contract and not the Sergeants. Anyone have the Sergeants contract?

This must be great for morale for the patrolmen when they go outside the department to hire a supervisor rather than promoting from within

More than likely just to make it look good. Sometimes ya gotta advertise for EVERYONE just so when you hire from within and anyone questions it, you can say, "Well, we TRIED to get a suitable candidate from ANYWHERE and it just so happens, the perfect candidate was here all along!"

EUPD377 and LACopper, you're talking about Brown University. Rhode Island is a whole different animal.
