In an unusual occurrence British Police were fired upon today while chasing a stolen car. Armed police were called in to assist with the incident.

Police officers were shot at as they pursued a stolen vehicle on a street in Salford.
Officers saw the stolen Skoda Octavia in Monton, Salford, on Thursday night and followed it.
But one of the car's four passengers fired a gun at the patrol car on Eccles New Road, Eccles, before driving off.
Four suspects fled but one forced his way into a house on Lascar Avenue, Ordsall, in a bid to escape police. A man was arrested by armed officers.
A police helicopter, which had also been following the car, had tracked the man to the house.
Armed officers surrounded the property, and after a stand-off lasting an hour and a half, a 26-year-old man was led out and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The occupants of the house were led to safety and the property was sealed off by Greater Manchester Police firearms officers.
The stolen Skoda was later found abandoned in Trafford Road.
No-one was hurt in the incident.
The man who lives in the Lascar Avenue house, Bill Cobbledick, told BBC News: "I just opened the door. He come in, shut the door behind him and dashed up the stairs.
"I said 'what's going on?' I thought someone was after him. It was five minutes later that we heard all these lights flashing and police shouting 'armed police - come out!'.
"I peeked out the window. I'd never seen anything like it in me life. I said to the missus - there's police outside there, what's going on?
He added: "I opened the door and he said 'police - come out with your hands in front of you,' so I walked out the gate there - and they come behind me.
"I've never seen so many police in my life. There must have been about 20 or 30 police cars and about a hundred police."
A double-barrelled shotgun was later found during a search of the area.
Supt Ian Palmer, of Salford CID, said: "This demonstrates the risks police officers can face whilst going about their daily duties.
"We are keen to speak to members of the public who may have any further information about the people in the stolen car.
"They have already proven themselves to be dangerous and we will be doing everything we can to trace them."
