The Bristol County Sheriff’s Office is looking to hire Correction Officers for it’s next upcoming Correctional Academy (date to be determined in the near future).

Must have a Valid Driver’s License, meet other Minimum Hiring Requirements and successfully complete a Correction Officer Academy.

The Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Shall be responsible for observing the daily activities within the facilities of all inmates / detainees (male and female) committed to the custody and care of the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office.

Benefits
Include Medical, Dental, Life Insurance as well as earning of Vacation, Holiday and Personal time.

Interested applicants MUST COME INTO THE OFFICE TO FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Applications are available at the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office, 400 Faunce Corner Road, North Dartmouth, MA 02747. Applications will not be mailed out.

Interviews will be scheduled for all qualified candidates who meet the Bristol County Sheriff’s Officer criteria. All information will be included in the application package.

Starting Salary as a Temporary Correction Officer: $30,165.46
After Successfully Completing One-Year Probation period: $33,716.61

Overtime also available

Hours and days off will most likely be either 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM and 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM with Tuesday/Wednesdays or Wednesday/Thursdays as your assigned days off until you’re able to obtain another assignment through bidding by seniority after you have become a Permanent Correction Officer.

It is a job that has good health benefits.Thats it the pay is low.Unless you pay i mean play the political game.
The County of Bristol still pays 95% of the health Ins. They have been trying to raise it for a few years, and the union continues to fight it. They would like to raise it up to what other county's pay, including the state, but won't raise the salary of the officer to cover it.
