Was leaving the Great Woods Plaza on Mansfield Ave. in Norton today around noon time when I heard a siren wailing away in the distance... waited a few seconds and to my surprise it was not a Norton or MSP cruiser but a Boston K9 unit speeding toward Rt 495.

Any ideas??

He might live out there and was called in for something. Most of the Special Ops' guys were grandfathered and are not required to live in the city.

He was probably shopping at the Wrentham Outlet Stores and got a call & got caught with his pants down! Just using the siren to make up some time.

Guy in my town from BPD gets a take home car & dog. Not a bad gig if you can get used to the smell of a wet 110 lb German Shepard.

Maybe he was out there for training and decided he wanted to head back to Boston in a hurry. I've seen K9 cruisers from other depts. whizzing through Boston with their lights and sirens on after trainings from the BTD Tow Lot and even around my neck of the woods where they train in the Stoneybrook Reservation.

There is a BPD K-9 guy who lives in Norton. I used to deliver dry cleaning in his neighborhood way back in the day.

Alot of BPD Cops live all around there, Is matter of fact he has one of the best K9's on the job, just ask the last guy who tried to get away or hid in a building.
