Anyone know how or when the Boston Special Academy takes place to get your rule 400. How long does it normally last? Do they even have it anymore?

The 100 hour Unarmed and 160 hour Armed classes are contracted out. Boston does not participate in the classes, they only "oversee." There are supposedly only three approved contractors that can give the classes. BPD Licensing can give you the three approved contractors. We have been using Atty. William Cloran for our Special Officers.

Atty. William Cloran will start a new 13 week Boston Special Police Officer course
on Tuesday December 12. The course runs for 13 weeks and meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 8am-4:30pm at the IBEW Hall 194 Freeport Street in Dorcester.

The 100 hour course for unarmed officers is $950.00. The armed training consists of an additional 60 hours of training.
