DORCHESTER (WBZ) ― Boston police are looking for help in a desperate search for a missing child.
Family and friends say they have not seen 12-year-old Shadon Tucker since 6:50 a.m. Monday, when he began his walk to school on Norfolk Street in Dorchester.
He is a 7th grader at the King Middle School on Maxwell Street. When he did not show up for classes, officials there called his parents. The family then notified police.
Shadon's father, David Tucker, told WBZ he was out until 2 a.m. searching for his son. He resumed at 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Shadon is black, 4'11", with a medium build. He has black hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a Red Sox hat, a green jacket, a black zip-up hoodie, a white short sleeve polo shirt, black pants, and white and black Fubu sneakers. He was carrying a blue-light blue backpack.
Anyone with information about Shadon, his whereabouts, or where he was last seen, please contact the Boston Police Department by calling 911 or directly contacting Area B-3 detectives at (617) 343-4712.
The family said police told them they have not put out an Amber Alert at this point because the circumstances don't meet the criteria - there is no indication that he's with anyone or that he has been abducted or harmed.
