B&D Reloaders in HP was the victim of a political assassination-killed by Menino.
I've been going to both Four Seasons, and Collector's-finding both to be well stocked with comparable pricing, good selection, and knowledgeable/friendly staff. The only difference: Collector's stacks the ammo in the middle of the floor,Seasons piles it around the edge.
If you get a coupon, Dick's for ammo can be a good deal, but they are strict with the limits.

Guns Inc...saw him many times over the years at shows, but had never been to his store. TOP NOTCH, especially if you're a fan of old wheelguns. He used to work for S&W and his knowledge and inventory shows it. Pulled out a rare 3 inch (get your minds out of the gutter) and explained how he built it. I hate Springfield, but I'd go back for this shop.

The reason for my trip to Springfield was a loose plunger tube on a SW1911. They used to have walk-in service, but cut it about a year ago. Ended up where I should have started, with Mike LaRocca in Worcester. In and out in under 20 mins for 20 bucks.

Happy ending! S&W lawyers shut down the retail store when somebody committed a murder subsequent to using the range at the store. Everybody is scared of LIABILITY these days. Probably got skittish about potential for persons seeking warranty resolution FTF and going postal. LIABILITY is the dirty word being over-used theses days. Scares everybody into changing their business model and even police operations!

I'm really surprised at that. Ten years ago you still couldn't order ammo online and have it shipped to MA because the AG had sent cease and desist letters to anyone that they could find that would, probably under the BS regulation that people had to have a FID/LTC and that the seller had to have a license to sell ammo (that of course cost $100 a year). Personally, if someone could provide proof that they were licensed through emailing or faxing credentials or a LTC/FID, I see no problem, but MA is a nanny state...

...and I'm not talking about Louise Woodward, either.

+1 Still thought shipping ammo to Mass. was a big no-no.

I believe most of the ammo sites still say " will not ship to MA,NJ,NY" etc
