WOODBINE, NJ - A man awaiting sentencing for allegedly assaulting a State Police trooper last year was charged with assaulting another trooper this month.
State Police in the Woodbine barracks searched a home for drugs on Washington Avenue on Thursday with help from its K9 and TEAMS units.
Police said they seized cash and crack cocaine from the home.
Police said during the search, Jarrid Davis, 28, of Woodbine, fled the scene. Police said he resisted arrest and assaulted a trooper and, when finally handcuffed, kicked the driver's side passenger window out of the back of a police cruiser.
Davis was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.Police said Davis was awaiting sentencing on an Oct. 5, 2007, arrest in which he allegedly assaulted the arresting trooper when he was being charged with disorderly conduct.
Nobody was injured in either arrest.
Police charged the homeowners, George Williams, 47, and Lisa Troup, 40, with distribution of cocaine and conspiracy to distribute drugs.
Jasper Williams, 18, of Lower Township, and Brian Thompson, 22, and Jeremiah Thompson, 18, both of Middle Township, were charged with drug possession. All were held at the Cape May County Jail.
