Is there any set time frame to become a detective or do some speciality work for MSP? A lot of city differents are 3 or 4 years.

No probation for five years. Some guys go to SPDU REAL quick, if they had previous local PD experience. Rule of thumb would probably be 3-5 years, leaning towards the five if you never worked at a PD before. It also depends on the SPDU, some counties are tougher to break into then others...

To any Trooper- How much time off each year do you guys get? Does MSP have comp time or lost time? and is it easy to take days off or do you get rejected a lot? thanks

HHmmm...I wonder who told me that then... just out of curiosity, how long is the MSP probationary period?
