ASHLAND -

An Ashland man is facing 19 charges and is under investigation by several departments after police said he broke into his own home at least twice.
Anthony Fleitman, 19, is being held at the Ashland Police Department on $15,000 bail after his 9 a.m. arrest yesterday. He was questioned throughout the day by detectives, said Sgt. Gregg Wildman.
On Wednesday, police went to 366 Cedar St., Fleitman's home, to investigate a reported break-in.
"During the investigation, (Officer Douglas Grout) located a Ruger .22 caliber handgun," said Wildman. "It was not secured, and it was loaded."
Police seized the gun, and learned it had been stolen from a home in Greenville, N.H.. Wildman did not know when the gun was stolen.
Police arrested Fleitman, and when they patted him down, they found a baggie of marijuana in his pocket.
They also found several other items in his home that did not belong to him, Wildman said.
"During the investigation this morning, it was subsequently discovered he had other stolen property, including electronics and jewelry," the sergeant said. "Also during the investigation, it was discovered he broke into his own home and stole merchandise."
Wildman said he could not discuss how Fleitman was charged with breaking into his home, but did say he did force entry into the home. The sergeant said Fleitman broke into his home in September and on Wednesday.
Most of the items were taken in break-ins in other communities, but Wildman said he could not name them, but said they are working with various police departments as part of the investigation.
Fleitman is also facing charges out of Natick in regards to a past assault. Wildman said he could not discuss the incident, and Natick Police Lt. Brian Grassey declined comment.
Fleitman is charged with possession of a firearm without a permit, possession of ammunition without a permit, possession of marijuana, four counts of receiving stolen property, three counts of malicious destruction of property, two counts of larceny of more than $250, two counts of breaking and entering into a building, refusing to return stolen property, disorderly conduct, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault to intimidate and threatening to commit a crime.
