I feel ancient on here reading some posts. Luckily my town has no upper age limit, or I would not even have a spark of a chance, not that it is easy when your young either...now I do not want to post age.lol

Yeah I feel old. Been taking tests since 19. 27 now working at a college and praying to get on the state police for Feb.

I'm 41 in October MrsEast. and I havent given up. I'm looking at P/T (possibly F/T) here in NH, the Mass DOC, Mass Aux's, theres still opportunity out there... Just keep trying, stay focused, stay in shape, and it will work out for you. Good Luck!!

Thanks guys, you give me hope. And my husband and a few of his friends said they went thru the academy with guys 40+ BUT no women over 32 so that is where I get worried. I am 35 and working really hard at getting stronger each day. I keep looking and applying. This might be my last 2 years on the cs list...I do not think I will take it again in 2 years.

During my testing a lot of the other women I was up against were older, in their 40s. Now, none of them got on, but they were there. I was told by one that now that her kids were grown she had time to do what she wanted...so there is no pressure on the female end of things, keep pursuing and you'll be ok!

Jeez Jake...you sound like my husband. He's the same age as you and all he does is complain that he's "almost 30"...and that I gave him gray hair...you men always laying blame on us women

Don't you even THINK about quitting lady! I'm 44 and now looking at best chance ever to get on to municipal. Been trying since 89 and gave up about three years ago. All my Cop buddies convinced me to take the last test after skipping it in 03. Boy was I glad I listened to them. Keep it up!

Hi all, I am not giving up but I have to keep things in perspective. 35 is NOT old by any means but I have four children we have to think about. My youngest just turned a year old in July. Two are in full time school and one part time. I will not finish getting my degree in CJ because if I do not get a job then it will pretty useless to me if I have to go for a career outside law inforc.
BUT this two years may be the ones, the town I live in is all about score and nothing else so If I can get called off the list then I do not have to worry about my age. Also, have interview with Holliston and up against a lot of qualified dudes!! Good luck to all though but not better than me lol.
