Similar incident... In my town a BOLO went out for a car with 2 occupants wanted for B&E Nightime. An Officer working a road detail saw the vehicle and stopped it. The Officer did a good job stalling as he made it appear as a simple "License check" until 2 Cruisers arrived and took them into custody. :wink:

I think the critics also need to look at it from a Crime Prevention stand point also... Visibilty is key to being proactive, and (most) details make us VERY visible.

Every town has its own rules... but many (mine included) only require you to wear your uniform with sidearm, cuffs, and radio. You do not have to wear full duty gear... Which is quite nice on a 90 degree day.

He admitted to using heroin a short time earlier. Evidence was seized from the truck and the subject summoned for appropriate charges.

Nothing like shooting up before hitting the open road :shock:
