I was trying to recall what an instructor said in the academy, but its a been a while, maybe someone can help me out. I believe he told us that you can write 720cmrs on any roadway that runs from one town to another and any tributary thereof? Is this true or am I confused with the 540 cmrs? Thanks

720= Mass Highway Regs. for State highways
540 RMV Regs.

540 deal mainly with equipment and safety
720 deals with "basic CH 90" i.e. failure to stop/yield. Most 720 is only a $35 fine.

As far as 720 "jurisdiction" according to M/V Guru J.S. if it has a # i.e. RT 125, Rt97, Rt495, Rt 95, etc 720 applies. Also any road running off it. If the road touches the Rt# it's good to go.
