BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - Bridgeport police are investigating a one-car crash that killed three men.
Police say the accident happened shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Chopsey Hill Road, Summit Street and Pond Street.
Authorities say the driver of the car, 27-year-old Maleek Chandler of Bridgeport, died at Bridgeport Hospital shortly after the crash. The names of the other two men who died are being withheld until after their families are notified.
Police say Chandler apparently failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. It's not clear what his car hit, but police say no other vehicles were involved. A witness told officers that the car was going very fast when it crashed.
