NEW BEDFORD - Two investigations have resulted in the arrests of three people suspected of trafficking in cocaine.
On Saturday, police seized 170 grams of cocaine and $1,900 in cash after executing a search warrant at 80 Sagamore St.
Jimmy Sylvia, 28, was charged with trafficking in a Class B substance of more than 200 grams and a school zone violation.
If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 12 years in prison.
Police Detective Derek Belong was the lead investigator.
On Tuesday, narcotics detectives raided a third-floor apartment at 181 Ashley Blvd. and confiscated 25 grams of cocaine, 420 grams of marijuana and $1,488 in cash, court records said.
Police arrested William Rodriguez, 41, and Ramonita Martinez, 32.
Both were charged with trafficking in a Class B substance of more than 14 grams, possession of Class D substance with intent to distribute, and a school zone violation.
Police also arrested Johnny Lee Rivera, 28, of New Bedford, who arrived, allegedly to buy drugs, while police were searching the residence.
He was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant, court records said.
Police Detective Justin Kagan was the lead investigator in the case.
