BROCKTON -
Police charged a 17-year-old with a string of gun felony charges following an apparent shootout on Jackson Street in Ward 4 early Sunday morning, police said.
Esau Depina, 17, of 20 Jackson St., Apt. 1, Brockton, was arrested after police obtained a search warrant and seized four guns from that address, police said.
Officers and detectives responded to Jackson Street, located off Perkins Avenue on the city's south side, just after midnight Sunday after receiving a 911 call reporting five or six gunshots.
At least 16 police cruisers responded to the scene.
When officers arrived, they found a "live" round by the door and bullet holes in the windows of the two-family home on Jackson Street, police said.
Officers found "numerous" spent shell casings outside of the home, police said. Once inside, they found ammunition and four guns.
Depina was charged with four counts of possession of a firearm in felony; three counts of unlawful possession of ammunition; three counts of discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling; possession of a large capacity weapon; and defacement of a firearm serial number.
Sunday's arrest was the latest arrest of a city teen on gun charges.
Early Friday morning, police seized a gun from a 15-year-old at 11 Bellevue Ave., located in Ward 6 on the city's north side.
The teen, who was not identified because he is a minor, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, police said.
Depina was scheduled to be arraigned today in Brockton District Court.
