SPRINGFIELD - Police in Springfield are looking for the person who shot an 11-year-old girl who was standing in line outside a store selling the latest Nike Air Jordan sneakers.
Mayor Domenic Sarno says an orderly line had formed outside the store just before it was scheduled to open Saturday morning.
He tells The Republican newspaper (http://bit.ly/133OIix ) that police think the girl was an innocent victim struck when some young men trying to cut to the front of the line sparked a violent confrontation.

That's too bad.

...But I shake my head at the thought of people actually lining up for a new pair of sneakers. The only people in this world who should be lining up for shoes are the ones who don't have ANY.
