Two Boston police officers were shot and wounded on Gladstone Street in East Boston responding to a fight between roommates last night, leaving both officers in "extremely critical" condition, Police Commissioner William B. Evans said early this morning.
The suspect, a 33-year-old man who Evans said was armed with an assault-style rifle and ballistic body armor, was shot dead.
One reporter asked a two part question, first was dumb, 2nd was specifically if the responding officers had long rifles. Evans weaseled around that very rehearsed.
I've noticed over the years that if you have 20 reporters asking questions you'll get about 8 really good and relevant questions; 7 that are totally STUPID; 9 that are a question (good or bad) already asked/answered; 12 that have received a "We can't answer that at this time" already and at least one where the reporter asks, "And WHO are YOU wearing?"
Yeah, I made up those numbers, but watch a few news briefings and you'll see this shit happen EVERY time.
and the media sometimes can't seem to understand why we cannot STAND them.
except Paula Ebben. She's a Goddess who can do NO wrong, EVER! Any stupid question SHE asks gets a pass!
What I can't figure out is ............ It was okay to call out SWAT, you know the guys with the rifles when they had an active shooter back in the day,
but now when policy dictates first responding officers engage active shooters they're not allowed to have rifles ?
