Rep. Gabrielle Giffords Shot at Grocery Store Event

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head at point-blank range today outside a Tucson, Ariz., grocery store where she was holding a campaign event, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

Giffords was among as many as 12 people reportedly wounded in the shooting, and according to Congressional sources, several people on the Deomcrat's staff were among the wounded.

She was taken to University Medical Center, where a hospital spokesman confirmed she was alive. But the extent and seriousness of her injuries were not being released.

Reports on TV are saying that Giffords and 6 others have been killed.

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot and killed at a Tucson event Saturday morning; five others have been reportedly killed.

At least four people are dead, University Medical Center spokesman Darci Slaten said. They were among five to seven people who were being treated.

AP sources: Ariz. gunman ID'ed as Jared Laughner - wtop.com

WASHINGTON (AP) - People familiar with the investigation tell The Associated Press that the gunman held in the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona and others has been identified as Jared Laughner.
Little information is known immediately about Laughner _ such as his background or a possible motive in the attack.
U.S. officials who provided his name to the AP spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release it publicly.

He also murdered a 10-year old girl during his rampage. I'm sure this story will have lots of disturbing information to it.

I just watched all his videos. What a weirdo. He obviously has done a lot of thinking in his head. Though, his head is not on planet earth. Based on his videos, he seems to be apolitical and not religious. That, I am sure, won't stop the media from placing the right wing tag on him.
Congresswoman appears to be out of surgery. I pray for a full recovery.
