According to Brockton police, detectives stopped a vehicle about 4:30 p.m. at Washington and Crescent streets. When officers approached the vehicle, the operator, later identified as Moore, accelerated his vehicle, striking the Brockton cruiser and narrowly missing a Brockton police officer.
While tragic that an innocent woman was killed, THE ONLY person to blame is the pusher who decided to run from the police and drive like a lunatic.

The Enterprise didn't update the story for a long time... NOW the information is out there. Sad, the victim's name sounds familiar, naturally so does the shitbag that killed her. Absolutely zero regard for anyone else, THEN tried to run on top of it.
Funny thing, pursuits...on one hand tragedies like this can occur, and as usual the POS who takes off survives. On the other hand, if you don't chase and he hits someone, the media and community want to know why the cops "just let him go"... Boston PD is so paranoid about chase, I've heard supervisors call off foot pursuits!
An old time cop many years ago said if the public really didnt want us to chase, than we should be issued Ford Pintos to drive. It is a tradegy that does happen with no alternatives. Chases when the bad guy is caught and all goes well are what is expected. When all goes bad, bystander or cop gets killed, it turns around to haunt the dept for years. If there is a definate no chase policy that every crook would just run. If that's what people really want back to the Pintos or Ford Foucus.

No prima, "thousands of people" do not choose to lead the police on a pursuit that results in the death of an innocent person, and it does NOT happen "all the time".
