Updated: August 26, 2012 - 3:40 am FOXBORO - Round two of the New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium had its share of rowdy moments, as Saturday night's packed concert saw more problems than Friday night's, according to Lt. Jeff Stuart of the Foxboro State Police barracks. http://www.thesunchronicle.com/news...cle_12de3489-8c8d-5ab4-b9cf-645215c7d208.html
I was 'hat profiling' last night. OWWSSH. Operating While Wearing Stupid Straw Hat. It was a like a friggin' parade of them between Midnight - 2 AM coming off the 'big road'.
The first, last, and only time I worked that detail, there were over 350 arrests, 19 of which were by me and my partner.
The number would have been a lot less, if not for the really cool Foxborough PD arrest forms that you can use for PC's and other minor offenses at the stadium....you can fill one out in less than 5 minutes, and you're done.
There was a time we didn't have to do reports for a PC. Now they want a two or three lines. It takes longer to complete the bio section of the report then the report itself. Just another way they pad the arrest statistics IMO. I rarely PC these days. If I can charge them, I charge them. If I can launch them to the hospital, I do that instead of PC. At least if bring them in on a charge, I don't get those Fuck You looks from the CO, not that I really give a shit if some of them like it, but some bosses you got to keep happy. Those are the bosses that tend to be good to us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Worked the Friday night country concert, One more thing off my bucket list, never again. If they really want 0 tolerance for drunkeness maybe they shouldn't sell alcohol for 4-5 hours during the concert.
Anyone know how many arrests were made at the Carribean festival? I'd be interested to see the comparisons.
Probably not as many as you think.....Foxborough PD encourages arrests, and I have the sneaking suspicion that Boston PD has a hands off, arrest-as-a-last-resort policy for the Caribbean Festival.
Delta784, You are absolutely correct with the posted comment. There is an environment that is dictated by the major law enforcement agency of jurisdiction to allow for "gray" policing for the Caribbean Festival, DR Festival, PR Festival etc... whereas the obscene contrast is observed with the South Boston St Patrick's Parade day which is strictly "black + white" policing, zero tolerance. Only 3 arrests on the Carib Fest day for the primary agency of jurisdiction....
