......... men were men, and all you had to worry about were a few things: air, fuel, and spark broads, and gas money
Oh man, some nice iron there. Having grown up in that era was cool in many ways, especially the cars. Like many here I'm sure, I could fill three pages with the stories. Sure wish I still had all the ones that got away....
(Actual cars not pictured) The two cars the old man had that were promised to me when I got my license yet, were sold off prior to that time.
I don't discriminate when it comes to older cars, but when it comes down to it, Ford is my top choice. An assortment for your pleasure, of Ford's other muscle cars besides the Mustang. 1969 Ford Fairlane Cobra (formal roof) 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler 1970 Torino Cobra 1966 Ford Galaxie 7 Litre (it's own trim level)
I had a 1970 grabber orange Mustang I rebuilt from 2 totaled cars in 1977. I'd love to own another one someday.
The 426 Hemi was a race car motor that Chrysler only put in street cars to qualify it for NASCAR. It's notoriously finicky in street-legal tuning mode, and the 440 6-Pack is actually faster as far as acceleration in street-legal cars. A 1969 Road Runner 440 6-pack is on my wish list.
There is a guy who paints those bodies for the company that currently makes them right here in my city. The paint is so flawless and deep, you could dive right in. I see them get shipped out in a covered car carrier every so often.
Drove one, a Super Performance kit. 390hp... Thing was INSANE. Side pipes nearly melted my shoes as I stepped out of it. Definitely one of the fastest cars I've driven.
