Delta, terribly sorry to hear you went through that. Not to make this soapy, but we're all here for you RIP to both
God bless you for your efforts I cant imagine a more difficult thing to have to do. Rest in Peace to the boy and his Father
Sorry Delta. You don't seem like the type that needs comforting, but no matter how jaded you may feel sometimes, or how much you look forward to retirement, you wouldn't hesitate for a second to do everything you could to aid someone in peril. Society doesn't adequately reward those who do, and those who do it don't seek reward. The only thing that matters is the admiration and respect of one's peers. That you have, many times over, from all of us on here, and from all those you serve whether they realize it yet or not.
How horrible. I can't even imagine how that might stick with you. Very sad for the family as well, a parent's worst nightmare. Hug your kids a little tighter tonight, people. Sent from my wicked smaht DROID RAZR
dead kids have to be the worst. must be hard to process that. you did your best, doesn't make it any easier. but at least you were there for the kid.
Totaly sucks. Give me a call later if you want to go grab a beer to decompress. I'm off Mon and Tues.
That's terrible brother. Sorry you had to go through that. You did everything you could. Don't hesitate to talk to someone about it to decompress, whether it be a friend or your EAU.
I'm sorry, Bruce. Sounds like you had a hell of a shift from the bat attack to this in a "compromised" cruiser. I wish you smooth sailing from here on out. May they rest in peace.
Delta, your brothers and sisters in blue are with you. That is one of those calls that isn't just going to go away. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I don't know you personally but if you need to talk I am here. RIP to the father and son and prayers to their family who lost so much today, I cant imagine the pain they are going through. As Right As Rain said, hug your kids a little tighter tonight or tomorrow morning when you get off your shift guys.
Delta, words can be so useless at times like these. But, know this, you gave that boy a final gift. A chance he otherwise did not have and that fact that no one wants to pass away alone. He had a hero by his side. Take comfort in that. RIP to both.
Bruce, Take solace in knowing that you did everything you could and that this boy did not die alone. Sometimes God has his own plan, no matter how hard we try to change it.
There is something sinister about hearing a motorcycle crashing into a dump truck, and I'm sure it was a scene of hell on earth. There is nothing worse that I can think of, than a child being victimized or killed. I'm sorry to hear you were in the thick of it Delta. RIP Dad and son.
