Suspect slugs clerk during Framingham robbery Posted 13 hour(s) ago A masked man punched a Beaver Street store clerk in the face during a robbery Monday morning, police said.
His liver is already taking a beating. Without a doubt they'll find him dead of sclerosis in the next few years. He probably upped his alcohol intake since being traumatized by that mean cop who arrested him last year..
The piece of shit should've been deported already...and I still.owe that 'mean cop' a shot or 3 of his choosing at a future m&g
I totally agree with store clerks, because often times, they own the business and the stock. However, I'm not so sure about bank tellers. First off...banks are nothing but friggen robbers themselves. With all the fees they charge for nonsense, F*ck em' if they get jacked. I don't want to see an innocent employee get hurt, but I wouldn't feel bad for one second if the bank lost a few pennies of the billions they see in profit.
I think just about everyone here would agree that no one gives a crap about the banks they're a bunch of thieves. However, the thieves in the executive offices aren't the ones being threatened or getting guns shoved in their faces. My mother-in-law was held up on a few different occasions working at a couple of different banks. From the way she described it, the last time was just as frightening as the first time. So yeah, screw the banks but arm the tellers.
Ok you're right about the tellers, but obviously it's not feasible to arm the random bank tellers and expect them to smoke a would be robber. First off, it's far more likely an innocent customer or other teller would be shot. Second off, hiring armed guards for each branch would stop all but the real serious, armed nut jobs. Not to mention, I'd venture to guess the rate of convenience store clerks shot or otherwise injured during robberies, far eclipses that of bank tellers. Very rarely is anyone actually hurt during bank jobs, compared to store robberies.
But, we all know most of the cheap bastards in corporate headquarters would never dream of adding guards to their payroll or an expenditure line for an armed security service. The only time I've ever seen any security at any of my banks was after they were robbed. For a few days/week after they had a police officer in the lobby. I don't think every teller should be armed. God, knows I wouldn't want to see my mother-in-law with a gun in her hand. But just like every other profession, I'm sure there are tellers who would be good with a gun and an accurate shot. My point wasn't and still isn't to advocate arming bank employees, it was to point out that you can say screw the banks they're greedy, but the tellers are the innocent victims of the robberies. As for the difference in the number of injuries during bank robberies vs. convenience stores, there are a number of factors that could explain that. In pretty much every bank I've been in for the last 10-15 years, the tellers have been locked in rooms behind glass where store clerks are out in the open. Then there's the fact that bank tellers are (or at least used to be, I don't know any current tellers) trained to just hand over the money where we see many incidences of store clerks fighting back. Another contributing factor is that in the last few years I've noticed a decline in the number of customers in a bank branch, a lot of times I'm the only one in there, while convenience stores tend to have more customers. So long story short, my point is you can't say arm group A but not group B because you don't like who they work for. *****NOTE: The use of the word "you" refers to a generic you and not any particular member. It's just easier and far less douchey sounding to type "you" than "a person/people".
Not only are tellers locked behind glass often times, but it seems to me most bank robberies these days involve notes threatening the use of force, while convenience store robberies frequently involve physically displaying a weapon or actually using force.
I've read about the remote locking outer lobby doors that basically contain a robber there until police arrive. Just actvate while he's on the way out. Might work in certain circumstances. http://www.google.com/patents/US4461221 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
