    Unbelievable. Folded, creased, and pleated.

I've seen lesser hits end careers. :(
Get well kid... and take it slow.

I don't see any suppression system residue.

Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery, Trooper.

mtc...does the entire fleet have the rear impact fire suppression system? I guess you have seen more of these than me, but I thought the nozzles were only under the car...

Frank, the entire fleet is SUPPOSED to, however they are velcroed and zip tied up there. Many cruisers don't have them, and when you call to get it fixed you get the run around from the garage....or so i've heard. On a side note, thank God the truck hit the passenger side of the cruiser and not the drivers side or else we'd probably be talking more serious injuries. Get well soon Trooper

I thought that as well. Thankfully it was an angle hit. If he got hit flush or on the driver's side, it could have been REAL ugly.

I've seen a few wrecked sleds come back in... the suppression stuff all over the trunk, the back seat, etc.
I don't recall ever seeing one with the roof folded down like that. Holy crap. He must be one hurting pup today. :(

I've seen the trunk pushed into the backseat, and the cruiser REPAIRED and given back to the Trooper.

My cohorts tell me he was super calm, as if he were simply calling in a DMV. :)

    Update:

    NORWOOD, Mass. —
A state trooper was injured Wednesday after a pickup truck slammed into his parked cruiser at a construction site on Interstate 95.
Trooper Kenneth Downey, 27, who is assigned to Troop H, was in his cruiser at exit 11 near Norwood on I-95 South when the vehicle was struck at about 3:40 a.m.
Investigators believe the truck driver, Ricardo Lepe, 35, of Beverly, fell asleep and collided with the car at about 60 mph.
Downey was extracted from the car and taken to Boston Medical Center with back and neck injuries. He was released a few hours later.
