Woodfork was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on March 15 and is being held on charges of first degree murder, first degree burglary, armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon No hate crime charges ha? ,gee what a shocker, Bob Strait was a World War II paratrooper who took part in the D-Day invasion as part of the 101st Airborne Division, where he was awarded a Bronze Star, This is no way for a hero to die, I'm sure Osama will have a press conference any minute.

Hate crimes are bullshit, no matter which direction the race finger points. Enhanced penalties for motive is essentially enhanced penalties for thoughts......anyone else remember "thought crimes" in Orwell's 1984? RIP Mr. & Mrs. Strait.
Imho unless someone actively goes out looking for a person because of their race,religion or gender its ridiculous to use the hate crime charge. Let's say I'm in a bar and some black person assaults me and we get into a brawl and I call him the N word, is that a hate crime. In Glosta a few guys beat the shit out of a gay kid that started a fight with them. The two guys used gay slurs and got hate crime charges simply because their words, they had never even met the guy before HE assaulted them. From what I read this doesn't sound like a hate crime yet, I was making a cynical remark about hate crime charges themselves. Most people revert to basic insulting during confrontation, if someones overweight they will use that, if their bald they will use that , if their Spanish they will use that, etc etc and its not correct usage imo.
Someone who unlawfully beats someone because they're (insert PC minority here) should be prosecuted.......for A&B, A&B D/W, and any other appropriate CRIMINAL offenses. Prosecuting someone for their thoughts is an absolutely frightening slippery slope.
Agreed 100%, I'm talking about getting into a fight or confrontaion for valid or invalid reason and during that confrontaion one person decides to use an insult that is race or gender based is not a hate crime but simply man's way of getting the better of the other.

Chain the pos to a pole and leave him there until nature takes its course. Maybe a few members of the 101st Airborne could pay him a visit and "explain" to him just how wrong his actions were.
