Police probe video of KO

FIST FIGHT: A frame grab from a YouTube video shows two men squaring off before one was punched unconscious in downtown Boston.

Hub detectives are probing a vicious fight video that shows a man being knocked out cold and then heartlessly mocked by witnesses during a late-night brawl downtown Saturday night.
“Detectives know about the video,” said Boston police spokeswoman Cheryl Fiandaca. “It is being reviewed.”
The video, which was posted on YouTube, shows a group of men arguing before one squares off with another man and is violently punched. The man collapses onto the street unconscious and is cruelly taunted by the man filming the video before he’s carried away by his friends

I get that there will always be bar fights, hell I've been in a few, but what happened to shaking hands and walking away? Apparently you haven't won anymore until you and a group of friends stomp on your opponents head.

A man was found dead in the same area and appears to have suffered head trauma from a "fall" or "fight". I think BPD are checking to see if it was the same person.

Not the same person. I had this conversation with someone earlier today who knew the person who died. He knew of two other fights the deceased had been in this month, and someone else I know had asked me if I knew the kid, which I don't, but he had explained he had gotten into altercations with him as well in the past.

Sad. Sounds like he couldn't handle the booze.

I'm surprised they're taking this thing seriously after BPD summarily dismissed that video of that guy with the bat who went after those dudes who were jumping on his car a couple of years back on Tyler St. In Chinatown.

It's terrible. The BRIC is teeming with activity from A-1. Try driving through the area on a saturday morning after all the riff-raff have cleared out, like 0330 or so. It's like a tornado ripped through there.........
