does the pepper spray carried for defence purposes against a person affect dogs? thanks in advance blueleader over and out
Try it on your dog and let us know. Or, just find a neighbors dog that you don't like and let us know.
well i can tell you that the stuff that mail men carry .. work on humans... about 10 years back a friend of mine got it off is dad and we peperd a friend of ours ... and he was bull shit
Frank---I took your advice and tried the pepper spray on my neighbor’s dog. (I don’t have a dog) I asked him first and he asked me why I would want to do that. I said that I had heard that dog’s don’t have tear ducts and it does not affect them the same as a human. I told him that I asked the same question on a K-9 police dog forum and it was suggested that I try it on a dog. So he said OK we’ll try it. He brought his dog out and I squirted him from about 10 feet away. WOW does it ever work---he spun around about 5 times, and then bolted into the woods. We haven’t seen him since, it’s been about 5 hours now. I feel kind of bad, so if he dosen’t come back I will offer to replace the dog. I guess that answered my original question. Well now we know.
Yeah it does work, dogs mucus membranes are very effected...in ffact in some cases it is worse for them. I found the dog at my house, since he was all spiced up I ate him with some fava beens and a nice Chianti.
Is the pepper in the spray different then the bombs? A kid I use to be friends with had the pepper bombs launched into his house. It didn't affect his dogs in any way??
I heard since there are no mucous membranes in your ass it won't affect you if you get sprayed in the ass. Why not try that one next and report back?
was told tear gas does not effect dogs and that's why they can use it in a prison cell block and immediately send in the dogs don't know about pepper spray , but they do make one for bears. not in a big hurry to try that stuff out
I gotta stand up for blue leader...he's just kidding. I know him from my old shooting club...he's a good egg and works closely with law enforcement and DoD building some very very cool stuff. Just saying...
Pepper spray—dog update---his name is "lucky" I don’t know what SOT II ate but it wasn’t my neighbor’s dog. the dog is back and is OK. After those scathing e-mails I felt real bad. So I told my neighbor to bring the dog to the “doggy clip shop” for a bath and nail trimming on me. Do you think I should spring for a new dog collar too? The next time my neighbor comes up with a goofy idea like that I’ll tell him to call the vet. first. Boy i'm glad he didn't have a bear for a pet. thanks for all the help blueleader over and out
what's that old joke ? something like....... the forest service has issued a bear warning in the high country. rangers have advised hikers to tie small bells on their packs to scare off any bears close by and use pepper spry in case of attack. a good way to tell if bears are in the area is to check large droppings for small bells and a pepper aroma </IMG>
I am new to this site so i dont want to sound out of line but what the hell made you think about spraing a dog w/ pepper spray that sounds kinda crazy
It works on cats.... A while ago there was an incident where the over spray was in the air and there happened to be a cat close proximity to the person being sprayed and well the cat coughed just as much as a human does when they get come in contact to over spray. Needless to say it left the area in a hurry.
LOL no sorry...that one we just shot for pissing on a womans couch. Can you blame us...You cant get cat piss out, she had to throw the couch away!
