The new approved firearms roster is out........ It looks like the m&p 45c will finally make it to the Commonwealth Communist State of Massachusetts. I also noticed the M&P sheild both in 9 and 40 made the cut.... http://www.mass.gov/eopss/docs/chsb/firearms/approved-weapons-roster-4-2012.pdf
Commence flooding of Four Seasons for the shield. They have 400 "on order" aka in the back room probably.
With any luck, I'll get to fingerbang one at the fun shop on Thursday. I'm not buying one since the wife would chop my nuts off if I bought another gun (and I already have a J-frame as a small carry piece) - but I'll let you know my thoughts.
Sorry guys - I went to the fun shop today and the line was 60+ deep with only two employees working the counter. They were running a sale and people (okay, they were all cops...) lined up that deep to save $25-$30 and get a free knife. I did however, enter my name in the bucket to win a M&P Shield...in the unlikely event that I actually win, I will post up a full review for everyone.
They had them at the Manchester Firing Line in June...didn't get to shoot it but it feels nice in the hand. Trigger is on par with the full size, and APEX has a kit. Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
We really need more approved guns, and they need to scrap the stupid thing altogether. I don't like S&W's M&P line at all and I love the revolvers but they're too god damn expensive. Yet here I am, can't buy any cheaper alternatives! Thanks a lot MA!
What do you carry? I'm partial to my highly modified LC9. The AG can make the gun come one way, but she can't stop me from modifying it in the parking lot.
I'm a revolver fan, I personally like old school guns. I recently sold off a few so I haven't been carrying as all I've got left is my Walther PK380 and my S&W Model 10. I liked the Model 60 for carry though.
The AG can keep a dealer from selling you one, but doesn't mean the gun is absolutely prohibited in this state. Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
You stated Smith wheel guns expensive. They are not. For under 4 bills, you get a .38spl gun that'll last through a nuclear holocaust and beyond. Used you could find one for about $300 if you looked around a little.
I know, my S&W Model 10-5 was only $290 bucks (the guy overcharged it should have been $270 and I didn't have the proof when I returned) so I gotcha there. I was referring to the S&W 686 for example. Thing is my dream gun and it's almost $900 new from S&W and used only goes down to around $600. I'm partial to the Ruger SP-101 too. I want a .357 when I get the money down the line. Maybe ever a .44, I'd loooove a Model 29
Ever shot a 29?? It's my safe queen. I've only taken it out to the range once, but I've been considering shooting it more, just for stress relief. Ammo is pricy, but if you bring your own or at least kick in a few bucks you're welcome to take it for a spin (no pun intended). I'm going to the range Friday
No unfortunately I've never shot it. I wish ammo in general was cheaper, even cheapo Blazer .38 Special ammo is $15 a box. As much as I want a .357 or .44 a 9mm might be the best option price wise. .22 would be even better but it's so weak I can't justify it unless I buy a plinking rifle. Thanks for the offer, I've got family stuff to do this weekend with distant relatives coming out for a week or so! Not looking forward to it
Jealous! I also want a Model 27 or I'd settle for a 28. My Vietnam vet neighbor has a pristine 27 but it's going to his son
