Two other PD's put in for those boats and DID NOT get them
They were stopped entering the LNG Zone which is NOT MIDDLESEX County by the Coast Guard and the State
They are now attempting the old we'll wash your back after being turned down by a certain PD to "ride along" and also be deputized for the county they are now pursuing becoming "assistant harbor masters" probably in return for a couple of badges
again 99% of these guys are good guys that work the blocks and would love to merge with the DOC= you could transfre anywhere in the state, they get the raises (let;s see 1/1/0 comapred to 4/4/6)
But alas he knows how to fight the fight , hire every Rep's and Sen. moron brother in law for an owsie......

Now I'm sorry I asked for the pictures because I am all fired up. I can't get hubcaps for my cruiser but these guys have all this stuff that serves no purpose. I am going to go throw up now.
  4. Delta784 Acting Stupidly

The helicopter is NOT from Middlesex; see the "JPSO" underneath the rotor.

As for the other crap, I ask again; where is the news coverage of this disgusting waste of taxpayer money???

Great so with diesel at like $4.75 a gallon and that stupid comm center getting 6-7 gallons a mile ..and I'm sure the ark does just as good globe trotting looking for friends....it's great to see THEY have no worries about their fuel budgets like every other PD doing the work..

I've been told by the Pres. of the Mascuppic Lake Asso. that a Tyngsboro PO is on board when patrolling that lake. Onboard the 27 Safe Boat on the Merrimac just sheriff's on board. And on the Concord just sheriff's dept. Still havn't seen them stop a boat?????:confused::confused:

this is a good example of why we need non-partisan sheriff elections.

there was an independent candidate for middlesex sheriff in 2010 who vowed to sell the middlesex naval fleet if elected.

    of course he wasnt elected.

people, average people, know little or nothing about the sheriff's dept. when they get to that part of the ballot they just vote their party loyalty. and middlesex being a democratic county...the democrat has a huge advantage. 'hellfire, jimmy dipaola is a democrat? so am i! im going to vote for him...'

im not just picking on the democrats the same thing happens in gop areas.

non-partisan elections people would be forced to concentrate on the issues rather than the party. at least in theory....

Just courious why you resurected an, almost 2 year old thread? Those guys, other than an occasional illegal traffic stop and being drunk and disorderly at the NewTown Grill, have been quiet. BTW Dipaola is not there anymore.
  11. JeeterLester MassCops Member

i found the thread interesting and important. much more important than turf wars over who gets what detail...or overheated union rhetoric about 'stealing jobs.'

im aware that diapaola is not there any longer. he never should have been there in the first place. the excessive purchases dont bother me half as much as his actions...ie. using the office to better himself politically and financially.

i find the sheriff vs. cops debates interesting. i dont have a dog in the fight. but at least on these boards the sheriffs get an undue amount of blame. im pretty sure the state police has some excessive equipment. when was the last time they used their ambulance (with the blue lights?) even dipaola was creative enough to think of that.

Probably when one of their troopers caught a ricochet in the FTU...
or during every single academy that they run there? RTT, SPMA, SSPO?

You've bumped two dead threads about Sheriffs, and started one about process servers. If you know how they end up here, stop picking scabs.

The MSP also has the amblance with EMT Troopers standing by at the in-service PT testing.

why do the threads end up like that? im merely a civilian. i dont understand the animosity towards sheriffs. ive read a lot of these threads on sheriffs and most of them are void of serious discussions. just pissing contests.

my objective opinion is that deputies are undervalued. they provide a valuable service, one that isnt without a lot of risks. if they happen to provide backup and support to law enforcement on rare occasions...who really cares? they arent going to take your jobs.

on the other hand, the current partisan system of electing sheriffs breeds corruption. it needs to be changed. im not sure the elected office can legally be abolished....since one of the main duties of a sheriff is civil process.

Just retired...there is plenty of work on the water for local, State, EPO, Harbormatesters, Coast Guard and Navy and the very well trained and deserving Deputies.... Where do I donate or hold a sign for this cushy hack job.....MPD...this is right up your alley...you might feel "REAL"... let's exchange tips on how to get a lame job on these mean, terrorist and crime infested waters...WE will save Massachusetts !!!!!!!! Where do we donate or suck up ??????.................

    ---------- Post added at 22:12 ---------- Previous post was at 22:02 ----------

Do stats show that not enough agencies "patrol" the water.... not likely...leave it to the Locals, EPO's and State Police.....Or why shouldn't Harvard University Campus Police join the needless crowd of agencies patrolling the Charles River.... Be pragmatic and stop the yahoo BS. Sheriff Departments should only patrol the exterior no man's land around their jails. Earn the job, stop paying money and holding campaign signs for it. The Coast Guard and Navy have my utmost respect and simply do their own jobs, very well.

This subject has been beaten to death a million times on this board and I'm sure it will again someday.

    Thread closed.

Resurrecting threads is okay if there is some new relevancy. This is just turning into another pissing contest.

JeeterLester, just accept the fact that the subject is a dead horse.....no sense beating it further.
