No doubt the lawyers are shitbirds but if they deduct that amount from what the taxpayers have spent on him already, he's in the red. Any cash settlements won by cons and welfare cases should be held by the commonwealth (taxpayers) like winnings to deadbeat dads.

How long do you thing it's going to take before he sees one of the "we'll give you cash for your structured settlement now" commercials? I can see him pissing through the first installment (I'm presuming yearly not monthly payouts) in no time, sell the structured settlement for pennies on the dollar and piss through that. It's even more disgusting when you consider this isn't earned income and doesn't count when calculating any public assistance he or his baby mama(s) are getting.

He should use that cheddar to run for Governor, he clearly has all the qualifications.

Funny how these idiots can manage to video a cop making an arrest, but they aren't able to film some scumbag breaking the law...I thought in these neighborhoods snitches get stitches, because that is what they're doing, isn't it?

Not entirely true. How many times have we seen videos of these morons who just HAVE to show off how smart they are(n't) show up on YouTube? Luckily quite a few simpletons DO make the cases for the Police!

    But not nearly enough.

I do look forward to the update that Mr. Jones was found robbed and beaten by his friends in an alley. It's what some call, justice or karma.

Now he won't have to steal jeans from the JCPenny at the Eastfield Mall anymore. I'm sure his first two stops will be the Mardi Gras and the Fifth Alarm. He better have fun now because He'll either be dead or broke in 6 months.

If you heard the prologue on that video where they start filming with ignorant talk of the late shitbird, "Rodney King" and "all white police officers," it's pretty clear who the racists are. The uncut video even has them saying something about getting a white woman to call because the news agencies won't take them seriously because they're black,it's pretty clear that they were neither cop nor white folk friendly. More importantly, section 8 shitbirds shouldn't be allowed to say "fuck" so often. They don't have the stress so they haven't earned the right.

The animals won't appreciate the zoo keepers until they're gone and they have to learn to fend for themselves.

I'd like the option of calling in white phosphorous mortar rounds when a neighbor hood falls to the enemy. At a minimum, I'd like a Mk 19 mounted on the roof of my hoop.

This is quoted from memory and appeared in a MAD Magazine issue about 30 years ago:
(sung to the tune of "Give My Regards To Broadway")

    Put mounted guards on Broadway,
    Drop paratroops on Herald Square.
Roll out the tanks on 42nd street
    with mortars everywhere.

    Load up the sub-machine guns,
a state of war we'll soon declare.

Put mounted guards on old Broadway
Because a Peace Group's marching there.
    ***********************************************************************************************
Kinda overkill, but for the times, it made sense to ME! It could still work under more stressful situations in our cities.

I find it funny - the LAWYER knows what a shitbag he is and negotiated his cut as a separate payment.

    AND

Those "structured settlement company" deals are heavy on the interest, no? So he's NOT getting his $275K in one lump sum... but will be paying for someone to dole him a lil bit every month.

Melvin Jones lll sentenced to 3 years in state prison after pleading guilty to drug and assault charges in Hampden Superior Court

Jones, now 31, was sentenced on Wednesday to a three-year prison term on drug and assault charges in Hampden Superior Court.
In a plea-bargained agreement, Jones pleaded guilty before Judge C. Jeffrey Kinder
to reduced charges stemming from his unrelated arrests over the past two years. In addition to the prison time, Jones must serve an additional year's probation when released.
Jones gained notoriety after being beaten by former police officer Jeffrey M. Asher during a traffic stop that was caught on video in 2009.
According to the plea agreement, a trafficking cocaine charge was reduced to distribution of cocaine. Jones also pleaded guilty to a second charge of distribution of cocaine and an assault and battery county for a July incident of domestic abuse. A second case of assault and battery from April 2011 was dismissed.
Jones will receive credit for more than a year - 464 days - he has spent behind bars while awaiting prosecution.
Jones' attorney, Jared Olanoff, touched on his client's history with law enforcement when he addressed Kinder.
"This case hopefully marks the end of an unfortunate chapter in this city's history," Olanoff said.
In imposing the sentence recommended by prosecution and defense lawyers, Kinder said Jones' past had no bearing on the case and that his guilty pleas and sentencing are about his accepting responsibility for his crimes.

Melvin Jones III's last pending criminal case dismissed

After pleading guilty last month to drug trafficking charges and agreeing to a three-year state prison sentence – plus, agreeing to a year of probation for a domestic battery case – Jones had a single shoplifting case outstanding.

So let me get this straight, this Teflon piece of shit gets away with beating the crap out of his baby momma and is immune for stealing over a dozen pairs of pants but a Springfield Police Officer loses his job and spends a year and a half in prison for subduing this gun-grabbing, actively-resistant drug dealer.
The only explanation for this and many other things is that the past four years has been opposite day.

Jeffrey Asher no longer in jail

Hampden County Sheriff's Department spokesman Rich McCarthy told 22News Asher is now in the Day Reporting Center. This means that Asher can live at home, but he must check in at least once a day. Every time he leaves his house, it must be pre-approved and scheduled. McCarthy describes it as a "lesser level of security."

Asher is also subjected to random tests of his locations and random drug and alcohol screenings.
In March, Asher was been sentenced to 18 months in jail for the beating of Melvin Jones, III during a traffic stop.
Asher returned home on Monday. McCarthy calls this a stage of community re-entry. In two to six months, Asher will be eligible for full parole.

The former officer will also be put on probation for two years following his sentence, and will have to take anger management treatment.

FINALLY, some good news, could be better but of course the news rag could resist presenting a biased picture of him listening to BS testimony during his trial, so i'll present my own picture:
