Anyone who DOESN'T apply is insane. Other than me. I've got too much invested in my current position (and HAVE NOT BEEN FIRED YET) to leave at this time. BUT OTHERWISE......

Anyone know what kind of coin they're making these days ? I'm not applying but I'm curious.
  13. EJS12213 MassCops Member

The posting on their site is listed as $1,094.00 Weekly. So if you do the math it comes out to about $56,888 a year.

Any overtime? Or is what you see what you'll get, no more / no less?
  15. Kilvinsky Will Work for Beer

56K is probably not even the TOP pay. No one ever skips over the starting pay and just shows the max.
  16. Macop Subscribing Member

I have three academy classmates and a former co-worker that work there. They tell me that there is plenty of OT and details, especially in the summer. You will make some good coin, if I wasnt where I am at now I would apply, hell yeah.
  17. Kilvinsky Will Work for Beer

Honestly sometimes there's nothing worse than having so much time in on a job that leaving would actually be detrimental. I'm way too comfortable and even though retirement is about 15 years away (a lifetime) I can't see going anywhere else at this stage in the game, even though a change might be a good thing and that $$$ is appealling as hell.

Does anyone know where they are in the process?
  19. militia_man MassCops Member

No, but when I applied last year I didn't hear anything back at all. So it is probably best to expect more of the same unless you are VERY SPECIAL (politically connected) Mr. StateSpecial.

Another posting on the Massport website. I wonder if the Probation Hiring Scandal will affect the process over at Massport??? I actually can't even type that with a straight face...................

I applied but I'm confused...When you attach your resume/cover letter there is no option to attach a check o_O
  22. EJS12213 MassCops Member

    Maybe they prefer cash.

In these economic times cash is the preferred method of payment. They will also barter if you have certain possessions and skills.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you hire me now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
