Man Shot, Killed In Confrontation With Lynn, State Police

    LYNN (CBS) – A Lynn man was shot and killed in a confrontation with state and local police late Sunday night.

    Lynn police say 23-year-old Brandon Payne was first seen carrying a concealed weapon in the area of Essex Street around 9:30 p.m.
    He then got into a car with some other men. When police tried to stop that vehicle and another that followed it on Ingalls Street, they say the vehicle Payne was in rammed a police cruiser.
    At that point, shots were fired by three Lynn officers and a state trooper. Payne was hit twice. He was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he died at 5:35 a.m., according to Carrie Kimball Monahan, a spokeswoman for Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett.

    I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the alleged planned home invasion was at a weed dealer's house. Note to UCs and detectives: How many times do I have to lecture you? Let the assaults happen, then EVERYONE gets some training in; crime scene, ballistics, homicide/gang/narcotics detectives, etc, and if you kill the assailant AFTER the assault, taxpayers get a two-fer!

    But weed is soooooo non-violent, dude...
