I’m writing in response to the Sept. 21 article, “Hodgson optimistic of inmate fee bill.” As a person incarcerated at the Dartmouth House of Correction, I disagree with the inmate fee bill. Why? 1. My family, as well as other inmates’ families, are out there struggling and don’t have the extra money to pay Hodgson’s inmate fee bill, when the families are just getting by themselves. 2. Hodgson states that we inmates must understand that we must first pay for the basics before purchasing luxuries and said this is a lesson for re-entry. First, there are no luxuries in this jail. If you don’t have money for canteen, you will starve and you would not be able to take a shower everyday with the little hotel soap bar (one wash and it’s gone) that the DOC provides you with. Hodgson make us inmates look like we’re living in harmony and we are not; we are far from it. As for giving us a lesson on re-entry? Re-entry is not just about paying a bill; it’s also about being able to get a paying job to pay bills, which Hodgson doesn’t offer. How do you expect inmates to pay the fee if Hodgson doesn’t pay us for working? All this free work around this jail and the Ash Street jail, and the road crews, that go out and work their butts off. My opinion is that we, as inmates, did enough free work to cover that fee bill and more. We are sentenced by a judge to do time, not to come to jail and be sentenced again. (Don’t forget the inmates that are not sentenced) 3. The taxpayer relief is also a big part of this, Hodgson said, “Those who commit crimes shouldn’t be recession free.” It’s funny that Hodgson says taxpayer relief, because the last time I checked, my family that he wants to pay that inmate fee bill are taxpayers. So where is their relief? Or everybody’s (inmates families) else’s? I’m not trying to bash on Hodgson, but this bill will not be fair to the families (taxpayers too) who did not commit the crimes. We inmates did the crime, not our families. The people who vote should know that there could be a chance that one day, their families might have to go through this. You’re only one drink away from being with me. Rusty Williams Dartmouth Read more: LETTER: Hodgson's fees unfair to inmates, families - Fall River, MA - The Herald News
Translation: "I selfishly decided to make bad decisions, with complete disregard for my family's well-being. So now everyone else should chip in to help us out." If you didn't care enough about your family to prevent this, then why should we? Sent from my ADR6300
Do they serve waaaamburgers and French cries in that jail? Rusty, ya got locked up in an uber-lib state, therefore you probably did something reaaaal bad. Therefore, I could give a flyyyying fuck less about your plight. Crying on deaf ears loser...
Well this is what happens when family members break the law... perhaps instead of blaming the Corrections dept you should blame you family member for screwing up in the first place.
And to Rusty and his friends and family, whom I'm sure will read this thread and maybe even add their useless comments, I'll say it ahead of time. GFYS!!
Hey Rusty it's fuckin "JAIL NOT YALE". I remember working at SBCC and my cellblock partner had an allergy and Tufts refused to give him the name brand medication because they said it cost to much but some scumbag named Dominic Cinelli (shot Ofc Jack Mcguire) rec'd the name brand med because he wrote a grievence to the administration. Inmates get more fuckin perks than the taxpayers do so Rusty GFY and pay up dirtbag.
Guess what, Rusty? When I was deployed in the Middle East, I lived in the desert and slept in either a GP Medium tent with 35 other guys, or in a HUMVEE with 2 other guys, I had to eat MRE's 3 times per day, and I went months at a time without bathing beyond a baby wipe bath. The kicker? I DIDN'T COMMIT ANY CRIMES, SO GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!!!!!
old rusty should see if one of those fat blisters in the visiting room has a friend that will come up and put some dough in his canteen. other than that eat the slop in the chow hall and have a nice day.
