Retailer JC Penney has sparked controversy with its latest plan to set a fire under its sales numbers. A new ad features same-sex fathers and not everyone is happy. The retailer recently released this new Father's Day ad. A real-life same sex couple hugging their two children and part of the copy reads: "What makes dad so cool?" Activist group, One Million Moms, is asking shoppers to boycott JC Penney on Father's Day. In a statement it says: "JC Penney's is continuing down the same path of promoting sin in their advertisements. We must remain diligent and stand up for biblical values and truth." http://www.klfy.com/story/18685048/jc-pennys-gay-dads-ad
All I have to say is those poor kids have to buy two Fathers day gifts. At least they don't have to worry about Mothers day, one less holiday to remember.
They flared up a while back when they hired Ellen Degenerate to be their spokesperson. They're not hard to boycott because they suck so i've never shopped there. Frankly, most gays are fashionable, they wouldn't shop there either, so I don't know why JCP is bothering unless they've got a "super" CEO pushing the cause.
Enough... With... The Gay... Agenda. I'm amazed jcp is still relevant anymore. With these continued stunts, I'm sure they'll fall into obscurity soon enough...
I can't tell you the last time I even walked through a JC Penney on my way to another store. The only thing I used to go there for was to get the kids portraits done when they were younger. I think the last substantial purchase I made there (over a $100) was in the mid 90s when we bought our house and I ordered all the drapes through their catalog.
Here's what I think, It's marketing plain and simple. Theses are new markets for advertising. With sales either flat or declining they are going to mine for every dollar they can get. Get used to it cause you are going to see alot more of this. Peace Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
I went to JCP the other day and I left empty handed. Their new "no coupons, no sales" pitch is a joke. Their prices are higher now than ever before, their staff are a bunch of libtard morons and they are less than helpful. All I have to say about JCP is, I'd rather get my clothes from Wal-Mart that are a third the cost, but are sewn by the same 6 year old chinese girl.
This is a poor marketing decision plain and simple. They're going to alienate any conservative customers that they have left and the only gay customers they may attract, who aren't already shopping there, are the ones who aren't smart enough to realize that the company is pandering to them. If they really want to improve their bottom line they need to provide quality merchandise at the right price point, clean up & modernize their stores and improve the overall customer experience. This includes using regional buyers and not national ones (the reason why you can't find what you need in the season that you would need it). It doesn't matter how much money they spend advertising to one group or another, until they fix the problems with the company from corporate down they're not going to see a stop to the decline. You want Kohl's. I got a Kohl's charge last year and because I spend over $600 with it a year I get "VIP" coupons. It's not that hard to spend $600 in a twelve month period especially if you have kids. But even without the VIP coupons, I'm constantly getting 10-30% off coupons & Kohl's cash offers. You can do really well for yourself if you time it right & combine sale items with the discount, the Kohl's cash & pay off the credit card as soon as you get the bill.
This^^^^. Every back to school shopping trip is made here, and you know you struck it big when you get the 30% off coupon and combine it with the store sales. I last shopped at JCP last year (online) when I needed those roll down shades for the garage to keep prying eyes off my stuff.
